GREAT TIPS FOR A KITCHEN RENOVATION

From Kitchen cupboards to the appliance. Here’s is how to ensure a successful renovation. Renovating your kitchen will add enjoyment and value to your home.

Here are a few steps to consider when u are up dating your Kitchen.

PRACTICALITY

IT has to go hand in hand with the use of your appliances and the lay-out of your cabinets, which we’ll design to fit certain areas to your kitchen according to their uses and bring out maximum storage space. For example the way we build our corner units with two doors in the middle to allow maximum accessibility into the whole unit

USE OF QUALITY MATERIALS

Buy the best quality Materials on the shelf that will guarantee long endurance to your Cabinets. No sense in spending a packet now, only to be redoing your kitchen now and then. Quality drawer slides and soft close hinges mean cupboard doors will stay closed and drawers won’t stick. Stay away from drawers that are stapled together.

HIGH CEILING AND KITCHEN CUPBOARDS

If you have high ceiling, choose kitchen cupboards that go all the way to the ceiling. They offer far more storage, and will enable you to use the extra wall space for open shelving or even artwork. There are lots of options that can be considered to remove the dullness of a flat, ceiling area. Put a bulkhead section over selected areas of the kitchen to create a multi-level appearance.

CUPBOARD DOOR FINISHES

Though most cabinet makers intend to use mela wood with 2mm impact edging which are not durable it is rather advisable to use wrapped doors which come with different profiles to suit your style and taste.

COUNTER-TOPS

So many options-granite, marble, Ceasar's stone, wood. Ensure your colours go together with the rest of the kitchen. Important to seal surface to avoid stains

ISLANDS THAT WORK

Don’t place a bulky island in the middle of the room, depending on the size of the kitchen. Rather have an island that have an open, airy look. The ideal island should have clean lines and minimal appliances

LIGHTING

Consider these areas in the kitchen that needs auxiliary lighting. Sink ,Breakfast areas and island counters, counter-tops, kitchen cabinets.

DETAILS –NOT TO BE OVERDONE

Design accents such as pediments over stoves and plaster moldings on cupboard door fronts can represent decorative excess. Always match the style of your kitchen with the rest of your home.

ABOUT THE DINING ROOM

A clever design, plus the appropriate lighting and furniture, will let you adapt the room’s atmosphere to suit any occasion
